Melanie Maycock – Practice Manager
Melanie comes to Practice Management after a life of varied career experiences. Beginning her working life out of University, Melanie was a teacher for 10 years. This role brought not only a role of classroom teacher, but quickly evolved into Team Leadership.
After leaving the teaching profession, Melanie expanded her love of education to the area of pregnancy and birth becoming a Birth Educator and Doula. Whilst doing this birth work, Melanie also found herself in her first reception role in allied health at Fertile Ground Health Group in Melbourne.
In late 2017, Melanie and her family moved from Inner West Melbourne to Torquay and this is when Melanie found herself in her first Medical Reception role, first working at a clinic in Belmont and then starting at Surfcoast Medical Centre in 2018.
Melanie soon moved into a Senior Receptionist role, before taking on Practice Management in 2021. Outside of work, Melanie is heavily involved in the Surfcoast Suns Football and Netball Club. She is a passionate netball coach and sits on the committee as Netball Coordinator.
In all of the roles that Melanie has held across her career, people have always been at the centre of her work. Melanie considers herself a ‘people person’ and places a high emphasis on relationships no matter what role she is in.
