Dr Liam Ryan

Dr Liam Ryan graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2019.  He completed his medical training in South Australia at The Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, before moving to Victoria to complete additional hospital training in emergency medicine, paediatrics and obstetrics.

Liam undertook his general practice training throughout practices in Melbourne and has received Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He has completed additional training with Certificate of Women’s Health through The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and is qualified to provide shared maternity care.

Liam enjoys the variety of general practice and is passionate about working with patients to achieve their health goals. He has a particular interest in chronic disease prevention and management including diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease and other complex medical conditions. He also has a passion for child/adolescent health, sexual health, men’s health, skin checks and performing minor skin procedures.

Liam’s compassionate and thorough approach ensures his patients and their families feel cared for and supported in a safe and inclusive environment.

Outside of work, he loves going for hikes, travelling, spending time with friends and family, and walks with his dog.

His clinical interests include:
  • Paediatrics
  • Women’s Health and Obstetrics including shared care, family planning and Medical Terminations of Pregnancy (<9 weeks)
  • Sexual and LGBTQIA+ health including Pre-exposure HIV prophylaxis
  • Mental health
  • Men’s health
  • Chronic disease prevention/management including heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, kidney disease and other complex medical conditions
  • Skin checks and minor skin procedures
  • Implanon insertion/removal
  • Travel medicine/vaccinations including Yellow Fever Vaccination

  • Obesity and weight management
